Live Selling Scripts That Actually Convert Buyers
Real, usable live-selling scripts for the opening hook, product demo, objection handling, and checkout close, built for in-stream buying.
"Welcome, welcome, I'm about to show you something" is not a hook, it is filler, and filler is exactly what makes a viewer scroll past your stream in the first eight seconds. Live selling lives or dies in that opening window, so what you say in the first thirty seconds matters more than almost anything else in your broadcast.
The opening hook, three ways
Skip the generic greeting and start with something specific enough to stop a thumb mid-scroll.
- The reveal hook: "I have twelve of these left and by the time this stream ends, I don't think I'll have any." Scarcity stated plainly, not as a gimmick.
- The problem hook: "If you've ever bought a phone charger that stopped working in two weeks, watch this one for sixty seconds." Names the exact pain your buyer already has.
- The price hook: "This normally costs more than what I'm about to tell you, and I'll show you why in a second." Curiosity around price, without giving the number away yet.
Whichever hook you use, say it within your first ten seconds on screen, before you say your own name or your shop's name. Viewers decide whether to stay before they decide whether to trust you.
The product demo script
Do not describe the product, show it doing the thing it is supposed to do. A script that works for almost any category follows this shape: show the problem it solves, show the product solving it in real time, then show a detail most buyers would miss from a photo alone.
For fashion: "Watch how this fabric moves, this is not the stiff material you get with the cheaper version, feel how it falls when I turn." For beauty: "I'm putting this on bare skin right now, no filter, watch how it blends in under ten seconds." For electronics: "I'm going to drop this from waist height right now, live, so you can see the case actually holds." For food: "This came out of the oven twenty minutes ago, listen to that crust when I break it." The pattern is always the same, make the camera do work a photo cannot.
Handling objections before buyers even type them
Experienced live sellers answer the objection before the comment appears, because they already know what everyone asks.
- On price: "I know this looks like more than the market price, here's exactly what's different about mine." Never apologise for your price, explain it.
- On delivery: "Same-city orders from tonight are landing tomorrow, I'll show you the tracking message the second it's booked." Specific numbers beat vague reassurance every time.
- On trust: "Everyone checking out right now is buying through the same checkout you'd use on any of my other listings, your money goes straight through, nothing changes hands off-platform." Say this plainly once per stream, buyers who are unsure are listening for exactly this line.
The urgency close, without sounding fake
Manufactured urgency backfires the moment a viewer senses it is fake. Real urgency sounds like this: "I have six of these left in stock, and once my slot ends tonight I'm not restocking this colour until next month." That is a true statement about your actual inventory, not a countdown timer pulled out of nowhere.
The checkout prompt
Say the exact action you want, not a vague nudge. "Tap the product card right under this stream, it'll take you straight to checkout, you don't need to leave this screen" works because it removes any confusion about what button does what. Repeat this line every few minutes throughout your slot, new viewers are joining constantly and missed your first mention entirely.
Closing the stream without losing the sale
Your last thirty seconds matter as much as your first. "If you're watching this after I've gone live, this replay stays up and you can still check out right now the same way" reminds late viewers and replay watchers that the buying window has not actually closed. End with a specific next step, not just a thank you, tell people what happens if they buy today versus later.
Practice the transitions, not just the lines
The gap between showing a product and asking for the sale is where most sellers go quiet or awkward. Rehearse the transition sentence itself, something as simple as "so if that's what you needed, here's how to get it" bridges the demo to the ask without a dead pause that lets viewers drift off.
