Early-Bird vs Standard Trade Fair Pricing: Which Should You Choose?
A side-by-side look at early-bird versus standard Bifixit trade fair pricing to help you decide when to register.
₦50,000. That is the entire difference between registering for the Bifixit National LIVE Trade Fair before 1 November 2026 and registering after, and it is worth sitting with that number for a second before deciding when to act.
The two tiers, side by side
Early-bird registration costs ₦100,000 and is available to anyone who registers before 1 November 2026. Standard registration costs ₦150,000 and applies from 1 November onward, right through to the fair itself on 12 and 13 December. Both tiers include exactly the same vendor benefits, the same promotional materials, the same delivery support, the same auto-posting to Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, and the same zero per-minute video platform fees. The only variable is price, tied entirely to when you register, not to anything about your shop or category.
Is there ever a reason to wait?
Honestly, no, not if you already know you plan to participate. Because the two tiers offer identical benefits, delaying registration only costs money, it never saves any. The one legitimate reason to hold off is genuine uncertainty about whether you will participate at all, if you are still deciding whether live selling suits your catalog, waiting until closer to the standard-pricing window to make that call is reasonable. But once you have decided you are in, registering immediately, even weeks before 1 November, locks in the lower rate with zero downside.
The case for registering the moment you decide
Beyond the ₦50,000 saved, early registration has a second, less obvious benefit: slot allocation. Nigerian vendors with a valid CAC business registration number get priority slot allocation, and as more vendors register, the most desirable broadcast windows across the two days fill up. Registering early does not just save money, it improves your odds of landing a slot at a time when more buyers are likely to be watching.
What if you're not sure you'll be ready by December?
Readiness and registration timing are separate questions. Registering early gives you more runway to prepare your catalog, film practice sessions, and get your promotional materials ready, it does not commit you to going live before you are prepared. If anything, registering early and using the extra weeks to rehearse your live selling script and stock your inventory is a better use of that gap than registering late and scrambling.
The subscription shortcut that beats both tiers
Before weighing early-bird against standard, check whether your shop is already on Bifixit's active paid subscription plan. If it is, registration is free regardless of the date, which makes the entire early-bird versus standard question irrelevant for you. If you are not currently subscribed but were considering it anyway, running the math on whether the subscription's other benefits plus the free trade fair registration beat paying ₦100,000 or ₦150,000 outright is worth five minutes of arithmetic before you register either way.
A simple decision rule
If you are on the active paid subscription plan, register now for free and stop reading this. If you are not, and you know you want to participate, register before 1 November and save ₦50,000 while also improving your slot odds. If you are still undecided about participating at all, give yourself until closer to the standard-pricing window to decide, but understand that the cost of that indecision is a firm ₦50,000, not a rounding error.
What not to do
Do not wait until the week of the fair to register under standard pricing while also expecting a prime broadcast slot, since by then most of the well-placed windows across both days will likely already be claimed by vendors who registered months earlier. Pricing and slot quality move together, not independently.
How to frame the decision for your own shop
Write down your actual answer to three questions before you open the registration page: what category are you selling in, do you have a CAC number and, if relevant, a NAFDAC number ready, and is your catalog and checkout already in a state you would be comfortable showing on a live broadcast tomorrow. If all three answers are ready, the only variable left standing between you and the lower fee is the calendar date, and there is no version of this decision where waiting past 1 November makes financial sense once you already know you are participating. Vendors who treat the early-bird window as a soft deadline rather than a real one are usually the same vendors scrambling for a decent slot time in early December.
